Alicia Ybarra, owner of Vanya Designs, has created custom wedding gowns for local brides for years. Now, she’s created a new way to order custom gowns!

She offers a virtual design process to reach brides throughout the country.

Virtually designing a gown begins with a consultation between the bride and Ybarra, during which Ybarra sketches the design they discuss. Next, the bride receives a design kit in the mail with measurement instructions, fabric samples and the sketch of her dress. Ybarra and her team then begin construction from their studio in Wichita, Kansas.

During the construction of the dress, the bride has multiple virtual meetings with Ybarra where she watches the process and provides her input.

Ybarra mails the dress to the bride a few times to check fit and style details. The bride receives her finished wedding gown in the mail at least two months before her wedding.

“This is all about helping brides nationwide feel beautiful in their absolute dream dress,” said Ybarra. “So many brides get discouraged when wedding dress shopping and end up ordering online, but most companies offer low quality, incorrectly sized, or even knock-off designs. We’re giving brides an online experience they can actually trust.”

Ybarra is excited to grow her small business...

... which currently employees seven people. To date, she has created over 600 custom pieces with help from her team and looks forward to creating many more.
